Pomo language assessment is critical for determining curriculum, training, documentation and resource needs for Pomo tribal communities. The California Indian Museum and Cultural Center (CIMCC) is currently assessing the status, needs, commitments and goals necessary for Pomo language preservation. With your help, CIMCC will produce a status report that will guide our revitalization strategies. We need your input!
Today, the responsibilities of language preservation and revitalization lies in our hands. The renaissance of California Indian languages must be pursued through both our individual and collective efforts. We all play an important role. Despite political differences, diverse dialects and limited resources, active collaboration and cooperation are fundamental to the survival and continuity of Pomo languages.
